Bellevue Square Mall sits on what used to be Strawberry fields. Bellevue Square was build in 1946 by a developer named Kemper Freeman and was the catalyst for Bellevues economic boom which continues today! In the years just before the mall Seattle real estate ads advertised Bellevue as ""15 minutes to your home in the country".
